DELIVERING A BESPOKE FOOD AND BEVERAGE SOLUTION BUILT ON DATA-DRIVEN BUYING HABITS

As one of the world’s leading content creators, broadcasters, OTTs, and distributors, there was no surprise when Deluxe searched for more innovative and creative approaches to their food and beverage offering. We installed a budget-friendly, bespoke Foodies MicroMarket in Deluxe's Perivale site that is stocked with a variety of food and drinks options, based on real-time data and consumer preferences.

CHALLENGE

Deluxe is a global video creation and distribution company, with offices around the world and operations in 38 international markets.

We have been working with Deluxe for eight years, providing refreshment services like water dispensers, instant hot water taps and hot drinks machines across their UK offices. Most recently, Deluxe required an attendant-free solution that would be made available 24/7, seven days a week for its staff to accommodate unusual shift patterns and limit the need to leave the site, whilst keeping in line with the company’s budget. In addition to these requirements, Deluxe wanted a solution that could deliver a wide variety of dietary options with minimal food waste.

SOLUTION

Before installing Foodies, we conducted staff surveys to find out the types of food and beverage options the Deluxe employees would like to see in the MicroMarket and if any dietary requirements should be included. To reduce waste and deliver the most cost-effective service possible, Selecta managed the Deluxe stock using real-time data. This meant if only four packets of crisps were sold in one week, it would only replenish the stock of those four packets. We leveraged these findings to provide a tailored selection of food and drink, took the measurements of the existing space in its canteen area and plotted a design that included all the catering bays Deluxe had asked for.

Finally, we installed a bespoke Foodies stocked with snacks, sandwiches and more to give shift-workers a variety of on-site, nutritious food and drink options that they can access at any time using a self-service checkout. We even answered the Deluxe employees' call for more vegan and healthy options featuring fresh fruit, salads and other light snacks.

RESULT

Employee feedback has been extremely positive now that they have instant access to their favourite meals, snack or drinks anytime through the night or weekend without having to leave the office. The partnership has flourished thanks to our willingness to work alongside Deluxe's existing in-house catering suppliers. Selecta complements the in-house caterers' offerings by supplying longer-lasting, best-buy options that last over the weekend, when the kitchen isn't open.
