Hospital vending machines trial

Helping people make healthier choices

As part of our commitment to healthier vending, Selecta has worked with Leeds Teaching Hopsitals NHS Trust and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to run a behavioural insights trial on the impact and opportunity for healthier vending in healthcare environments.

The trial tested in 2 phases: whether changing the availability or positioning of products within the vending machines could encourage healtheir choices and whether that was economically viable.

Public Health England (PHE) analysed the findings from this pilot trial to see if the learnings could be applied more widely. They have now published the findings in on their official blog and as a full report.

We are pleased to have been involved in this trial and are continuing to support the drive to help people make healthier choices from healthcare vending machines.
