Selecta UK and Ireland is part of the Selecta Group, Europe’s largest vending operator.
To say we had humble beginnings is a gross understatement. We've grown to be Europe's largest vending company the old-fashioned way – by working hard, growing little by little – and then, once we were in the position to, by acquiring some very strong local companies like SAFA (France), Vendepac (UK), SAG (Switzerland), Canteen (Sweden), Olland (Netherlands) and GoExpress (Italy).
1950 - Joseph Jeger saw his first vending machine in America. Purchasing five from a US producer he installed them in the factory where he worked in Switzerland, who is still a client of Selecta today!
1957 – The first hand made vending machine in Switzerland is produced by Joseph Jeger carrying the name Selecta and it was this year Selecta was founded
1959 – Selecta acquires SAG (Schweizerische Auto-matengesellschaft AG), a Swiss company
1985 - Selecta joins the Valora Group
1986 – Selecta establishes its first operations in Germany and acquires a number of local companies in the following years
1990 – Canteen Corporation (Sweden) and Safaa Group (France) join Selecta
1995 – Selecta expands in Austria, Slovakia, Iceland, Tunisia and the Baltic states
1997 - Selecta floats on the Swiss Stock Exchange and becomes a public company. Selecta also enters the Belgium market
1998 – AB Services Selecta Espańa is created
2001 - Selecta shareholders approve Compass Group PLC purchase and Selecta becomes the vending arm for Compass Group PLC. Compass acquires Vendepac UK and five new countries join Selecta: Czech Republic, Netherlands, Hungary, Denmark and Norway
2003 – Vendepac is renamed Selecta UK Limited
2004 – Selecta acquires the fourth largest vending operator in the Dutch market: Koninklijke Olland B.V
2005 – Selecta refreshes its branding with a new identity marking a new phase in the company’s development and expansion
2007 to present - Selecta is now part of Allianz Capital Partners
